What is the ECB rate decision?
The Governing Council of the European Central Bank sets three key interest rates: the rates on the deposit facility, the main refinancing operations and the marginal lending facility. Since March 2024 it steers the monetary policy stance through the deposit facility rate.
Monetary policy meetings take place eight times a year. The decision is published at 14:15 Frankfurt time, and the press conference follows at 14:45. In UTC that is 12:15 and 12:45 during European summer time, and 13:15 and 13:45 in winter.
