What is the US CPI report?
The Consumer Price Index of the US Bureau of Labor Statistics measures the average change over time in the prices urban consumers pay for a market basket of consumer goods and services. It is released once a month at 8:30 am Eastern Time. In UTC that is 12:30 during US daylight saving time and 13:30 in winter.
Core CPI is the index for all items less food and energy. The calendar carries headline and core CPI as separate releases, each as the change on the month and on the year.
