What is the Bank of England rate decision?

Bank Rate is the core interest rate in the UK. The Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England meets eight times a year to decide what level of Bank Rate is needed to meet the inflation target.

The decision is published at 12:00 UK time together with the Monetary Policy Summary. In UTC that is 11:00 during British Summer Time and 12:00 in winter. Four decisions a year, in February, April, July and November, also bring the Monetary Policy Report.
